Pat Ahern

Lead Adaptive Instructor

Originally from Westwood, MA, since age 6 Pat has been skiing, snowboarding, and riding just about anything that slides on snow. Pat graduated from Boston College in Spring 2011 with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Communications, and Boston University in 2020 with a Masters of Science Degree in Administrative Services, concentrating in Tourism Management and Economic Development.

Pat commissioned into the US Navy in 2011 and spent 11 years as a helicopter pilot. Pat’s Navy career brought him to California, where he was introduced to Mammoth Mountain and the Eastern Sierra. Upon leaving active duty in 2022, he moved north to make Mammoth his full-time home.

He shares his love for the mountains with his wife and two young girls. After 2 years working as a Mammoth Mountain ski and snowboard instructor, Pat transitioned from an Access Mammoth volunteer, to part-time staff, to full-time staff. He now serves as our Lead Adaptive Instructor – Snowboard. Pat states that he wants to try every snow sport, and ski in every state with a ski life.
