General Manager, Second Chance Thrift Shop

After more than a decade at Mammoth Mountain’s Main Lodge, Heather was ready for a new adventure. In the summer of 2024, she stepped into the role of Manager at Second Chance Thrift Shop.

For Heather, Second Chance is more than just a thrift store—it’s a place that gives back. From rehoming well-loved items to creating meaningful work opportunities through Access Mammoth’s programs, the shop plays an important part in the local community.

Access Mammoth is the sixth nonprofit Heather has worked with. Her journey into the nonprofit world began with Leave No Trace, where she traveled the country teaching outdoor ethics.

A lifelong book lover, Heather credits Steinbeck as the first author she couldn’t get enough of—but says picking a favorite would be impossible.
