Chair

Steve West, Treasurer, was raised in Southern California and his family’s vacations were virtually exclusive to Mammoth and the Eastern Sierra where they enjoyed skiing, fishing and backpacking.  He continued that tradition with his own children and in 2018 moved to Mammoth Lakes full time. Steve is a lifelong skier, surfer and rock climber who loves the outdoors and sharing the blessings of our beautiful mountains with others.  Steve was educated in finance and worked in a number of senior financial positions as CFO and CEO until he joined Wexford Capital, private equity firm where as a partner he was responsible for managing a portfolio of businesses in North America, Europe and Asia.  He has extensive experience in financial operations, capital formation and structuring, and management. He currently serves as director of Diamondback Energy (former Chairman) and Viper Energy (current Chairman).  When Steve moved to Mammoth, he was introduced to Access Mammoth as a volunteer where he was immediately impressed with the impact of providing life changing experiences to people who traditionally had not had the opportunity to ski, mountain bike, paddle high alpine lakes or even rock climb!  Steve looks forward to growing Access Mammoth’s portfolio of programs that educate and guide unique experiences in this special place.
