Sean Samagaio

Adaptive Instructor

Sean started with Access Mammoth in January 2026 as a Winter Adaptive Intern and has continued his journey with the organization as a Summer Adaptive Instructor. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Sean spent 22 years there before moving to Boone, North Carolina, to pursue a degree in Recreation Management. He will graduate in December 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management with a concentration in Parks and Recreation, along with a minor in Sport Science and Coaching.

Sean was introduced to adaptive sports while completing an internship for school and quickly became passionate about the mission of making outdoor recreation accessible for everyone. He fell in love with the work, the community, and the opportunity to help athletes experience the outdoors. Outside of Access Mammoth, Sean enjoys bouldering, flatwater and whitewater kayaking, hiking, backpacking, trail running, snowboarding, skiing, and mountain biking. What he enjoys most about his work is connecting with athletes and helping them get outside to pursue their own adventures.
